A Scottish Day Out

Hosted by the Western Australian Police Pipe Band, Police & Nurses is supporting A Scottish Day Out.

The day will feature:

• pipe band displays and championships
• Scottish Highland and Country Dancing performances
• clan and genealogy information
• stalls
• the Kilted Dash, and
• more... 

Held on Sunday 27 November 2011 from 10am at the WA Police Academy (parking off Kendrew Cresent in Joondalup), entry is free and this day is looking to be a great family fun event.

2011 Police Officer of the Year Award

Police & Nurses is a proud sponsor of this award, which recognises the efforts of outstanding police officers in our community.

We would like to extend our congratulations to Sergeant Don Emanuel-Smith for being awarded 2011's Police Officer of the Year. Currently stationed in Mirrabooka, Sergeant Emanuel-Smith was nominated for his positive influence and his significant work to establish effective communication and working relationships with community members and leaders from all different backgrounds.

Bright Blue (Police Commissioner's Fund for Sick Kids)

Bright Blue is a not-for-profit, public ancillary fund, established by WA Police Commissioner Karl O'Callaghan in March 2011. It was created after the success of the fundraising event the Wall-to-Wall Ride in September 2010, which raised money for the only 3D Molecular Imaging Machine in the southern hemisphere for use at Princess Margaret Hospital - a machine that aids cancer research.

Police & Nurses is a sponsor of this fund and will also be accepting donations to Bright Blue at any of our branches.

Scarborough Sportsmen's Club

Police & Nurses is a proud sponsor of Scarborough Sportsmen's Club, one of Western Australia's largest sporting clubs. With a new synthetic green being laid in July 2011, the facilities at this club continue to improve to suit it's expansive membership base.

Situated at 75 Deanmore Road in Scarborough, this community club offers activities such as lawn bowls, cricket, darts, football, snooker & pool, tennis, squash, bar & lounge facilities, dining and much more.

At Police & Nurses we feel that being a part of the local community is of great importance and are excited by this new partnership with SSC.

Million Paws Walk

Police & Nurses has been a major sponsor of the RSPCA Million Paws Walk for a number of years. The 2011 Million Paws Walk was held on Sunday 15 May at Sir James Mitchell Park in South Perth.

Police & Nurses recognise the vital role the RSPCA plays in WA in ensuring animal welfare and promoting responsible pet ownership.

Variety WA

Police & Nurses is proud to be a corporate sponsor of Variety WA. Variety helps local children who need it the most, from overcoming illness, to getting mobile again, or just making life a little happier. Variety was founded by the entertainment industry, but its heart is in the community where it now serves to enrich the lives of Western Australian children in need. Since starting in WA in 1980, Variety has raised more than $20 million.

Variety programs include:

Caring for kids. Providing essential medical and care equipment for families at home and for other organisations, like Princess Margaret Hospital and the Speech & Hearing Centre.

Crime Stoppers WA

Through the support of Police & Nurses and other sponsors, Crime Stoppers is able to assist thousands of Western Australians every year, through helping to solve crimes and seek missing persons. Thanks to Crime Stoppers there is now a far greater chance of criminals being exposed by people who previously would not contact police, due to fear of becoming involved, or in some cases a genuine fear of retaliation.
