Student Scholarships
Police & Nurses is committed to supporting young people with their education by offering two annual scholarships.
The two scholarships are available each year to Police & Nurses members, or the children of Police & Nurses members, who are entering year 11 in the following school year. The scholarships are designed to encourage and financially reward students who excel academically. Winners are encouraged to keep up the good work, with the possibility of the scholarships being continued into year 12.
To be eligible for the award, applicants must attend a secondary high school in WA, be a Police & Nurses member or the child of a Police & Nurses member, and be entering year 11 in the year following application.
Applicants are assessed by a selection committee from the Department of Education and Training. The selection committee base their decision on the following key criteria:
- Comments from the student's school Principal
- Marks received in the student's end of year school report
- Academic awards received
- Involvement in school programs
- Response from the student as to why they feel they deserve to win the scholarship and what they would use the money for were they to win
